From class colors to vibrant neon, this year’s Homecoming week culminated in the first rally of the school year on Oct. 18. With a disco theme that transformed the gym back to the ‘70s, rally commissioners Ryan Dusich and Dylan Swensen made their first appearance of the year in authentic disco outfits.
Clayton Valley’s dedicated ASB class, led by Jenna Ebert, poured countless hours into making this rally a memorable experience for the entire school. With preparation, communication, and sheer teamwork, they worked tirelessly to create an event flashing with school spirit. Stage manager Key Pavlova worked especially hard to organize the rally acts and provide structure for her rally committee peers, as well as the ASB class, to bring forth a rally filled with school spirit and a positive representation of the school.
For the Class of 2025, nostalgia was in the air as their favorite rally game from freshman year made a triumphant return. Classes raced against each other to transport a row of pool noodles from the bottom to the top of the bleachers and back down again. This fun, competitive spirit ignited excitement in the crowd and set the stage for the football game later that evening, as well as the highly anticipated dance the following day.
As the sun began to set for the day, energy from the rally shifted to the football field. By 6 p.m., parents and students filled the stands, cheering on the JV team as they faced off against Acalanes High School. The excitement grew as this year’s Homecoming Royalty finalists were announced, and the stands erupted with applause for this year's crowned royalty.
At 7 p.m., the varsity game kicked off, drawing even more excitement as students filled the stands in their brightest neon outfits. Blue Crew led the way with their signature cheers and chants, amplifying the upbeat energy among those at the game.
As the Homecoming week came to an end, memories of the rally and the spirited events that followed remained prominent in many students' minds as well as the memories made at the dance the following day.
